Ayurveda

Today’s health and wellness “revolution” is anything but new—it echoes wisdom from 3-5 thousand years ago. One of the most enduring and increasingly popular approaches gaining attention in modern integrative medicine is Ayurveda.

Ayurveda is an ancient system of medicine rooted in a holistic, individualized approach to health and well-being. It is one of the oldest traditional medical systems in the world. The word Ayurveda comes from Sanskrit: “ayur” meaning “life” and “veda” meaning “science” or “knowledge.”

Translated as “the science of life,” Ayurveda organizes medicine into eight classical branches, each aimed at restoring and maintaining balance within the body, mind, and spirit.
